I asked on grex.org and tildes.net for recommendations about quality news sources
that contrast to the sensationalism and shallowness of mainstream media news.  
These are a few of the responses I saw, in no particular order.  Note that, 
despite asking for "unbiased" news (if such a thing exists), some of these have 
an obvious liberal bias.
